Video Marketing = Gold!
60% of internet traffic is video, does that convince you Chicago Video Marketing is important?
YouTube should be the foundation of your video marketing efforts
Hundreds of video marketing sites have popped up in the past couple of years. The reach of video sites is undeniable, but why should you make YouTube the foundation of your video marketing efforts? One simple reason, YouTube is owned by Google. So, if your aim is to draw more people to your website and ultimately sell more product, then you need to include YouTube in your marketing efforts.
Why should I do video marketing?
Still not convinced? 60% of internet traffic is not enough for you? Well then, how about we take a look at competition. If you haven’t engaged actively in video marketing in the past, do you think it’s possible that your competitors may not have either? I think it’s almost a certainty. That means the level of commercial competition is still relatively low, so we have a window of opportunity to get a leg up on our competition. Don’t blow it. The competition will eventually catch on to this.
What equipment do I need?
Good news here. You don’t need a ton of professional quality video equipment. In fact you can get started without even having a video camera. One of the best ways to get started creating videos to do your marketing is to get a piece of screen capture software. Personally I use Camtasia, but there are others, some are even free. Screen capture software just records what is on your computer screen and what you are saying. So, if you are camera shy, this is a great way to start your Chicago video marketing plan since you won’t even appear on camera.
Make sure on each video you tell the audience who you are and what your company is. This should be done at the start and end of every video. It doesn’t hurt at the start to tell your viewer the length of the video. Keep your videos short so they don’t get bored.
Another feature of video marketing Chicago websites need is exceptional content. One of the things I advocate is getting the maximum benefit from each piece of content created. Another form of marketing service that RightSide provides is article marketing. These articles are typically great content for videos. In fact, you can usually break each article up into several sections and create multiple videos for each articles content.
Then, when you do get a video camera, let’s do this: Create one video of you reading the content of the article and a second video using screen capture of a powerpoint presentation outlining the key points of the video. If you want to get really sophisticated, create a third video using a tool like Animoto showing photos and highlights of the content with a link back to the content. So, if you split each article into three pieces, you could ultimately create 9 videos from a single piece of content. Each of these videos will have a link to your site.
Remember this one important point, the attention span of viewers is very short. The videos you create should be no longer than 2 minutes and less than a minute is even better.
How should I distribute my videos?
A number of sites exist that will let you create accounts on many video sites and then automatically distribute your videos. At RightSide, we use 2 sites primarily for video distribution, Pixelpipe and Tubemogul. The sites are free and fairly self explanatory. Pixelpipe has more sites, but Tubemogul provides better tracking tools.
The scary math section
Let’s consider for a second what we are talking about. We have established that one of the primary things that must be done to get a site noticed is to have other sites linking to your site.
Earlier, we said that for each article we have written, we could have 9 videos created for every article written. Tubemogul provides access to 27 different video sites. So, if we just use TubeMogul to distribute our videos and insert at least one link in each video distributed, then for each article written we can create 243 links to our site. One of the other factors that affects how a site gets rated by search engines is the quality of the sites that you have links from. Well, if YouTube is owned by Google, how do you think they rate links from YouTube to your site? These are very valuable links.
Video Marketing as a part of Internet Marketing
The key to internet marketing is to do a little more than your competition and video marketing is a great way to do this. If for every article you get written you can create hundreds of video links to your site in addition to the links you create by syndicating the article itself, then you can create potentially thousands of links for every piece of content you create.
Video marketing becomes even more powerful when you begin to take advantage of social media marketing chicago techniques to gain friends, get comments and join groups. A series of posts will be created to show how to do this.
Video marketing is a great content multiplier, giving us hundreds of additional links for every piece of content we create. RightSide, Inc. specializes in providing the kind of video marketing Chicago businesses can count on. Contact us today to learn more!
